Just a question. Has anybody here visited Sky City at the Acoma Pueblo whistl driving route 66. Ive seen that it looks like a dirt road on the journey and comming from London were just not used to driving on that type of road, we do have a 4x4 hire car but how safe is it to drive

Hello - welcome to the forum Smile

I visited Acoma Pueblo on my trip in 2007 - it was excellent. The road is absolutely fine - we did it in a regular hire car. I don't seem to recall the route being especially "dirt road" and so I'd recommend it. It's quite a popular tourist site and so is pretty well served road-wise.

The actual tour itself is great - we had a very good guide. We traveled there in August and the weather was SO hot (something else we're not used to over here!)

Just saw the post about Acoma Pueblo, when you went did you pre book it or just turn up? How long did you spend there? Was it good? Any advice?

Another of the places I want to visit this trip!

Thanks
Annabel

Hi Annabel,
We just turned up and were able to join the next tour. It's well worth doing. We picked up a little piece of local pottery that still sits above our fireplace. The views from the top are fantastic 🙂
