One of the buried Cadillacs at the famous Cadillac Ranch outside Amarillo TX was hit by fire around 2:00 AM on September 8 2019. The damage only affected the paint, not the underlying steel, and can be painted over.
While spray-painting graffiti at this quirky site is encouraged and NOT vandalism, the same cannot be said of arson.
This mid-section of the Mother Road is being degraded in various ways, from graffiti on well-known buildings to destruction of glass and even stone walls of remote and abandoned buildings. An earlier posting below has the grim details.
