Dear all
I am SHiVA from New Delhi, India.
My plan is to travel with a friend in Michigan on the mother road - Route - 66.
Please suggest the best way to make this possible.
We have 20 days to make this possible...
Cheers. More later....

What i mean is, will a four-wheel drive or a RV is a better option for
running on the mother road. The intention is to look for flora and fauna
on the way and shoot them with my camera. May please help me with suggestions.
Cheers

Hi Shiva, a 4x4 isn't essential as if you are following the more well trodden path as described in the EZ66 Guide you'll be absolutely fine with a standard saloon. Many people like using an RV but then you don't get the experience of staying in the iconic motels. However, if you plan on taking many photographs then RV parks are very often in scenic areas with lots of opportunities to shoot wildlife.
Lots to think about!

Drove Route 66 in August 2007 - hope to do it again one day in the not too distant future.

The best vehicle to me to travel on road is jeep. And the necessary tool for me to travel is 300w power inverter from bestek. In the travel, I need to charge camera, laptop and phone in the car. The tool is convenient to take away. The way for me to use it is to connect with car cigarette lighter charger outlet. Maybe you need to add this tool to your list what you need to travel on the mother road. If you want to check more details about this tool, you can search bestekmall on Google. Wish this point is useful to you.

About Driving Route 66

What started as a record of my personal Route 66 experience has grown into an active community of Route 66 veterans and newcomers alike. This website relies entirely on the experiences of its users so please feel free to recommend your own personal favourites.

Every Route 66 road trip is unique, and this site is in no way intended to be a definitive guide to the old road. However, I sincerely hope it offers a starting point to anyone planning their own Route 66 vacation.
