Frist time for me on the forum here since I knew things always change in everyone's life. Whether it's day by day , or month by month. So my question is and I would like to get as many replies back as possible:

Are you planning on doing the Route 66 trip to get the most of the 100th anniversary from it? If so, are you going in 2025,2026 (100th anniversary) or 2027?
What are the reasons you are choosing that year? I can not make up my mind since I don't know if I want to go in 2025 where I believe not everything would be at 100% completed for the event, but maybe not so crowed? Should I go in 2026 and fight whatever traffic, crowds, and booking at motels I might run into? Or should I wait till 2027 the year after when there probably wouldn't be nothing going on, but yet I wonder if the route would just be like ghost towns along the way.
I been saving up for this for the past ten years since this will be my retirement present in 2026, so money wise should not be a problem. I don't mind crowds, but I do wonder if it going be so crowded that the enjoyment is going be overshadowed by crowds ( Maybe it won't be as crowded since I would think just mostly my generation is looking forward to it.
Or do I take a chance on 2027 when the route should be empty, but at the same time dull since all the actives were the year before?
So if I could get some replies on what future some of you are thinking about the 100th anniversary and what and why's about your year your going of those years I would really appreciated it.
