There are many icon personalities found along The Mother Road, but one such person, like no other, stands out in my mind as my good friend Bob Waldmire. You see, Bob lived and breathed the road for decades as he traveled from town to town creating masterful pen and ink sketches of roadside locations from Chicago to Los Angeles and all points in between. Many knew Bob as the "bird's eye view" artist extrodinaire of which he was, but I knew him as my good pal and roadie friend who shared the same passions of traveling the open roads on a dream. A dream that came true for both of us years ago.
My roadie pal passed away during this same hour two years ago today and I will forever miss him, as well as the many great times we had spent together whenever our paths intersected. Two years ago I wrote a short memorial story about my good pal Bob, while sharing some of these times spent as to allow the reader to get to personally know Bob, not as the "artist", but rather as just "Bob". The following link will take you on a virtual roadtrip to visit with Bob and to view some of the very last photos that were taken along the way: https://www.DrivingRoute66.com/bobwaldmire/
