Henry's Rabbit Ranch, Staunton, Illinois

Henry's Rabbit Ranch is a Route 66 tourist centre that is based in a replica old gas station with rusted pumps all around, surrounded by dozens of Volkswagen Rabbits in various states of dilapidation. When you enter the centre you find about a dozen rabbits - of the live kind - living amid the Route 66 memorabilia!

"We stop and visit with Rich Henry and his bunnies every year, regardless of whether we have a trip planned or not. He's such a great ambassador for Route 66 and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet."

About Driving Route 66

What started as a record of my personal Route 66 experience has grown into an active community of Route 66 veterans and newcomers alike. This website relies entirely on the experiences of its users so please feel free to recommend your own personal favourites.

Every Route 66 road trip is unique, and this site is in no way intended to be a definitive guide to the old road. However, I sincerely hope it offers a starting point to anyone planning their own Route 66 vacation.
